Default RivaTuner - auto fan settings not working

Hello, I use Riva Tuner 2.08 to set automatic fan control for my GeForce 8800GTS. I used formulas to calculate t min, t range, but unfortunately I don't know how to make it active after windows starts! I can save it as a fan profile, but for what? If I check "apply fan settings at windows startup" it sets fixed % to value which the fan is currently running! If I set some values, click apply, OK and restart windows, it is back on some default values which do not work very well since my fan is only on 80% even if GPU temp is 80°C... on the top of it my saved fan profiles suddendly disappeared when I was playing with these settings :-\ Yet when I want to change t range from 40 to 41 and click ok, it often gets back to 40 after clicking ok. Pretty buggy piece of software this Riva Tuner 2.08 I guess
