I have an Evga E-Geforce 8600GT and have been having some heat issues and looking around at HSFs.. Would a VF1000 be adequate for mild overclocking? If not, what would you recommend?
__________________edit: Would it also be worth it to use some thermal tape to attach an old case fan to the heatsink to pull more air through it? Edit2: I do know that GPUs commonly hit 70-80C, I have the superclocked version. I've been having mild issues with it artifacting when after playing for 5 hours or so , so I've been thinking of better cooling...

what heat issues...you know its common for GPU's to be over 70C, even over 80C full load. i used to have an evga 8600(GTS) so i know how they are. i even had mine oc'ed to the superclock speeds with no problems. it just raised temps about 5C.
