Default Gfx card without ram heatsinks?

What will happen? Is it ok without those heatsinks?

Thanks and Rep.

...You mean you removed the stock heatsink?

Link to your specific card.

They will burn and create fire within your case.

Not yet anyways... I plan to get an aftermarket cooler. My question is what would happen if you just have the cooler on without ramheatsinks.

Wait I know this one. The ram chips will get hotter than normal because heat is not being dissipated.

I had an 8600GT which had the layout that looked like it was supposed to have sinks on the ram, but didn't. I submitted a ticket about it, and they said that the ram would be okay without the sinks, and that the layout was for an overclocked version of the card, which I didn't have. I think you will be okay.

Thats why I asked for a link, if they make a version of your card that doesn't have any heatsink over the ram then your probable fine short term, don't overclock. My old 7600GT was that way they had several coolers.

Exactly! Just don't OC and you should be fine. If you do OC, then you may want to get some aftermarket ramsinks, and probably a better gpu cooler.
