Default 8800GT Heat problem with Duorb + bios voltmod

my inital test with duorb on evga 8800gt sc stock at 650/950:
idle:37C
load (furmark):50C something

So i thought it was great and went on with the 1.1v bios volt mod:
idle:37
load: 73C and climbing very slowly

the weird thing is it always goes higher, like after 10mins it gets other degree, and then 20min it gets another degree...

so i reverted back to stock to run full test:
idel:37C
load: 57 and climbing, it took about 15min to go from 56 to 57 but it still goes up.

somebody can explain what's happening here? I reseated the heatsink and it's the same result. The only reason I could think of is either:
1. some sort of dead airflow but I feel the air blowing
2. The south bridge is right beside one of the orbs, but it is only slightly warm.

thanks much appreciated

I did reseat it lol I clean it throughly with alchol and reapplied AS5 and tighted all the bolts with screw driver.

that's why it is weird, the temp keeps climbing can only mean something is preventing the heat from getting out

ok wth now it's at 61C on stock setting.... EDIT: OMG 62c

after like and hour of furmark stress test...i idle looks right though 37C but load temp skyrockets.

I am confident that i mounted the heatsink properly. I don't feel a lot air getting pushout from the second orb, i don't know if that's an issue.

EDIT: OMG 63C

I NOTICED SOMETHING, the breeze coming from the right orb is much smaller than the left, and the air is a lot hotter. And that's the orb with the south bridge under it...

I also noticed furmark to give way higher temps than real life, I decided to stick with ati tool. Best real life temps there, and also 3dmark should give accurate temps. I dislike furmark.

ok it's confirmed

FURMARK RUNS HOTTER THAN ANY GAME OR OTHER GPU BENCHMARK

I just tested with ati for 30mins 48C... playing assassin's creed max I saw was 51C and that was on 1920x1080 with 4xAA and maxed out quality.

In my experience, the DuOrb runs near it's limit on the faster G92 cards, and past it's limit on G80 cards. If you go well above stock, or mess with voltages, you will saturate the heat carrying capacity of the two pathetic heatpipes (and possibly fans) on the DuOrb.

FurMark does run hotter than almost anything else. It's more strenuous than Crysis, ATiTool's artifact scanner, 3dMark, or just about anything else. The only program I've seen come close is ShaderMark.

This is why I like FurMark so much. I know nothing can (currently) load a card better.

My 8800GTS 512 at 783Mhz core, 1836MHz shader, and 999MHz memory, tops out at around 60C in a 25C room after several hours of FurMark (I find lower resolutions with no aa/af produce the most heat). I use an Arctic Cooling S1 and a 55cfm 92mm fan.

With a DuOrb, I never plateau on temperatures, esp on my older G80 card. Temps start off excellent, but they keep going up and up and up, till something craps out.
