Default Just got my HT-30 GT on 9800GTX

My temperatures before were 60C+ now they are 37C and get up to 55C under stress, but i am trying to overclock it right now. What are so good settings??

try for 800 core as a start, and then work your way up slowly. Your shader will not go over 2000 so just leave it there, and keep your memory between 1000 and 1100, and turn it down if you want to try to get your core a bit higher.

thank you! also, what kind of temperatures do you get at your 846Mhz core at idle and under stress?

There will not be a correct answer for that question. It all depends on the ambient temp in your room and the Internal temps of your case.

hey i just tested it at 817/1998/1015 with the ATI tool using the artifacts thing and it was around 58C after 5 minutes and keeping it there steady. Do you think this is as far as my card will go at a good temperature? Or should I lower it to 1000 memory and higher core speed? Is 58C under extreme stress "ATI Atifact test" bad?

In my screenshot in the Speed Fan application the 'Temp' is the Intel SMBus and it is at 59C which does not look good. Is the SMBus supposed to be this high. I am not even sure what it is.

thats not too bad, I get 48 load at my speeds, but I have some crazy airflow going over my video card.

this card is truly meant to be Overclocked, crank that Core and Memory frequency up. You should be able to get at least 850 on the core and 1200 (2400) on mem. Your temps look real good. I can Benchmark with my core@885, and can even set the clock above 900 without it freezing in Windows (games is a different story). The Overclocking ability on this card was the only reason I went with it over the G92 GTS

Your temps still seems a tad high though, you put a fan on it correct? Also hows the airflow in your case?

Well when I took these temperatures I only had an old 88mm fan on the VGA cooler. I went out and got a 92mm fan and put it on it also I put a side intake fan on the case, these are the temperatures that I got this time (look at screenshot). (Notice I turned my settings up also from the last screenshot).

Also I have my q6600 running at 3.2ghz now and it was 1.475vcore now i got it down to a 1.375vcore which is nice and my CPU temperatures are so much better. My 200mm fan on the top of my Antec900 case is broken and another one is on the way, once it gets here i'm gonna shoot for a stable 3.4ghz with 1.4 or under vcore.

So pretty much my settings are up to 837/1998/1116 at 50C under the ATITool artifact test. So the 88 to 92mm fan and the intake fan really made a difference. Do you think I should higher the core on the video card?
