OK guys. I just received and installed my HR03+ Plus for my EVGA 8800 GTX.
ATI TOOL under full load on stock cooling I would hit 85 C. Idling at around 65. I installed the unit and booted up at 630 core 1000 memory. I idle around 45-48 max load with the fan barely on is around 65. I'm absolutely astonished by this heatsink. I didn't even lap the thing and the difference is uncanny. I matched the heatsink up with a Vantec Tornado 92mm HIGH CFM fan. Sure the thing on high sounds like a vacuum cleaner but I already have on for my sidepanel fan, matched with a logisys fan controller at about 50% the sound is VERY tolerable and really only drops temps a few more degrees when on full speed with the utterly obnoxious noise. Due to my arctic square heatsink which is pretty massive in itself, I had to mount the unit totally under the graphics card. Which I think works out better because the high cfm fan is blowing right over the gpu and memory. This card and the fan I matched with it can easily both be found on ebay for under 40-50 bucks for both! 50 bucks for 20 degrees to me is WELL worth it. LASTLY... If you have an 8800 GTX make sure its the HR-03+ PLUS version or it will NOT fit the 8800 GTX.

Yep thermalright has been and still is the big dog as far as aircooling goes. I experienced the same 20+C drop when i strapped an HR03 to my old 7950Gt. You really dont even need that much fan power. A simple 70cfm 120mm sitting on the heatsink is great and much quieter.

I tend to concur that it is great. These are my results so far with the hr03plus (notice the appropriate random string my gpu-z result got!
)http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/hr3xx/ http://www.isarapix.org/pix62/1211133656.png I could probably get better temperatures if I did a reseat, applied the thermal paste better and got the same fan that sits on my TRUE for it.. But it's good enough for me.

Ryan! How's it going, buddy? I sent you a friend request.
![]() Our buddy Jimmy didn't do to bad overall yesterday. = But more on topic.... Yeah, the HR-03 Plus is a great cooler. My 8800GTX idles at ~40C and loads (ATItool) at ~53C with this Zalman fan. I run it at full speed, but can't really here it over my 4 x 93CFM Thermaltake fans. ![]() I used to have a Vantec Tornado on it myself, at full speed, my load temps in ATItool were less under 50C! lol. Not too shabby. I opted to replace some of the louder fans in my case though, including that one. The greatest thing about the HR-03 Plus, it that even without a fan, it has been shown to cool better than the stock GTX heatsink/fan. (Given decent case airflow).

I agree Johnson had a good finish. At the moment I'm watching my cavaliers playin the celtics in game 7.
Yea I as well got a temperature drop before even turning on the fan lol. I am playin w/ the overclocks now and I'm really getting some head room on this card. Its amazing. I ran it at 640 1080 45 minutes of ati tools spinning cube then 45 minutes of artifact scan .. with fans on about 60% i was at 61 c .. and the room temperature wasn't as low as i normally keep it.

i run my GTX at 660/1566/2050 (core/shader/mem) clocks. The core is cooled by a Swiftech MCW60-R waterblock while GPU ram and mosfets have individual passive heatsinks. Loop with CPU and GPU uses 2 2x120mm rads. My core temps are: 38 idle, 47 load. Neither the GPU core or the waterblock are lapped.
I am impressed with the temps produced by the HR-03!! Great air cooler.

I have only personally owned one computer that was water cooled, however I've built too many to count.
I was contemplating going W/Cing on this set up but I decided against it. I got a m2n-e mobo for like 20 bucks so I upgraded my entire computer. I traded a 7900GTX and gave a customer almost at cost pricing on a Quaddro card for my current 8800 gtx. I was obviously disapointed by the stock temperatures this thing pushes. The thermal pads used on this thing are simply cheap, and ineffective. I understand being "on air" that I'm ultimately limited to the ambient temperature, but since I got a mobo that I knew wasn't going to be AMAZING for overclocking, I went w the already high clock speed 3.2ghz 6400. NOT TO MENTION as a side note, in all honesty I can build and overclock systems right up there with the best of them. YET I suck at cable management, the inside of my computer is a rats nest lol. My psu isn't modular so its just more of a pain in the butt. Last thing I needed in this already packed case was 3/8 water tubing and a radiator. I like the looks of the Tsunami Dream case, but working in the thing is a nightmare. I want to get a antec 900 or just say screw it and get a stacker and deal with 4 foot tall case lol.
