IMO, Akimbo > Accelero.

The Accelero exhausts air back into the case, while the Akimbo blows it out.

Im using a scythe f-flex sff21d fan, low rpm, low noise and does great. A different fan with same cfm would suffice if you were looking for a cheaper fan. Just be sure to have a good exhaust setup to carry the heat out.

Any fan will do, provided it's not heavy enough to damage anything.

Just tie it on with string or wire, or use zip ties, or hot glue.

Unless the case has really crappy exaust, the S1 is superior.

I get the same temps with a passive S1 as I do with the stock 8800GTS cooler (which is on par with the akimbo) at 80%. Add a fan and the Akimbo would be left in the dust.

The Akimbo only exhausts around 20cfm, at best, anyway.
