Default 8800GT Sli problem

I recently installed a second 8800GT (Asus EN8800GT to be specific) to my computer and it's working great. My only problem is that I cannot use my X-FI Sound card with it because the sound card blocks the fan on my video card.

I'm using a Asus P5N-E SLI mother board.

The fans on both video cards are huge!

Whats the best solution to this problem, Is it possible to replace the fan with something smaller and continue using my sound card or will I be forced to do something crazy like liquid cool the system/ buy a new motherboard.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You might want to look into aftermarket cooling.
My friend has a 8800gt and installed a duorb cooler and it works great.
Might want to look into one of those.

Well a dual slot aftermarket cooler obviously wont help him if the soundcard is already blocking the fan of the stock cooler. As this suggests to me the sound card is directly below the graphics card. Unfortunately I dont have a remedy for the ops problem.

He can't have dual slot cooling, because then won't he fit the sound card either. Try with the X-Fi, you should have no problems. I think the fan blows inside, not outside? I dunno.

Ya, I have no room between my sound card and video card for a fan.

Is there a way for me to buy a extender for my sound card to plug into so i can put it on the bottom of my case and do a ghetto rig to my sound system :P

I tried playing a game with the sound card installed and the video card overheated and my system turned off :$, not good...

That flexible PCI cable looks good, are there any good Canadian/American retailers who sell cables like that. 50£ seems steep.

where'd you get 50 pounds of? longest cable is 15 pounds, shipping can't be that much.
