If you have the room to install it in your case, and don't mind dropping $70, the fan on my HR-03-GT is inaudible unless you take the side panel off, and after the work done here, my idle temps have dropped by 30C/86F.

and it seems the Zalman is very quiet and cools better than the accelero

EDIT: Turns out the VF900 doesn't support 8800.
Lol, that's a lie. It does support the 8800GT. I have the nickel plated version of the VF900, the FC-ZV9, on my 8800GT as we speak. It dropped my temps instantly and looks great. I bought mine at Fry's electronics though so I paid a bit more than I should've. They wouldn't come out with a god damn nicke-plated DuOrb so I gave in. :\

Well seeing as though noise (and not heat) is the primary concern... I would say that a passive cooler paired with a low dBA fan is your best bet... Personally, I think the HR-03 is just too bulky and WAAAY overkill for an 8800GT...

Get the Accelero S1 and pair it 1 or 2 low noise fans

As mentioned above the accelero S1 or thermalright HR-03 GT passively cooled are both excellent

the accelero is cheaper though

HR-03-GT

Noctua 92mm
Agree'd

I have the HR-03 with an 80mm Noctua and it halved my temps.

Went up a few degrees with the resistor in to make the fan totally silent but i can take that for silence lol

Here ya go: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...4768&CatId=498

My card with the DuOrb idles are 40c and roughly loads of 56c after a few hours of Crysis and my room temp is probably around 73 fahrenheit. Get some AS5 if you do use it.
