Default VRAM Thermal Pads on 8800GTX?

I currently have a Thermalright HR-03 Plus on my 8800GTX. I'm going to put the stock cooler back on, because I need the room for the second GTX I just got for SLI.

My problem is, the thermal pads that go on the VRAM chips are botched. They are relatively thick pads, and I've heard putting AS5 on them instead doesn't work because there is too much of a gap.

Is there any place I can get these? I remember someone talking about a place you might be able to purchase replacement pads specifically for the 8800GTX/S cards.

Here is a pic of the stock cooler:

Whoops. So I'm definitely not going to reuse those, lol.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion, Daz.

But I actually ended up ordering a few sets (just in case I need extra) of these EK TIM Pads for the EK FC8800 Waterblock. They are 1mm thick and it looks like they'll do the trick. They're only $3.49 a set of Performance-PCs.

Just figured I'd post the info/link in case anyone else was looking for thermal pad replacements on a stock 8800GTX/S cooler. I'll post back with the results after I get them and put em on.

OK, what I didn't realize was the Pads I ordered are designed for the Voltage regulators only, and won't work with the RAM.

Any other suggestions?

Try Arctic Cooling pads: http://search.stores.ebay.com/Arctic...123228QQsofpZ0

PM them if you want other thicknesses.

Wow, thank you. Those look great!

Another question though: Which thickness do you think I should get? I tried determining the thickness; the actual gap seems to be less than 1/32 inch (~.8mm). So 2.5mm would probably be too thick of a pad, but the 1.5mm should work nicely when squished down... right?

Here is a pic of my other GTX:

Being so thin already, thermal pads don't squish much. If you PM them, I think they have 1mm and 1.3mm pads as well.
