If the Accelero S1 fits the 9800GTX, I'd highly recommend getting it. I switched my stock cooler on my 8600GT with the Accelero S1 and my load temps dropped by 10 C. And that's WITHOUT a fan!

Cool, well i'll give the HR-03 I have a go. Its worth a shot and i have loads of spare Ramsinks to use for it.

If it doesn't work i suppose i'll put the stock back on.

Unless someone can confirm the Accelero S1 fits?

According to the Arctic Cooling website, the S1 doesn't fit

The Accelero Xtreme 9800 does fit though (It only fits on a 9800GTX actually)
I can't find one for sale though

OOH that looks huge lol

Only other place i can find that stocks it is LambadaTech or whatever and they're all out too. Also only £26 there.

After a bit of searching to find some way of converting Sone to dba, i've worked out:

According to the Arctic cooling website

Stock = 1.1sone Which is 30.2dBA aprox
the AC 9800 = 0.7sone Which is 26.3dBA aprox

Not that much better all in all but if this HR-03 i have ends up not fitting I shall definitely be having myself a one of these when they are in stock .

OK I took the card out, prepped the HR-03, picked up my screwdriver... and wimped out lol.

Just thinking to myself, "wow, thats bigger then i remember. What if the GPU is a bit further along then i think. I might not have enough room."
Also if it doesn't fit and i bugger up the thermal pads on the VRAM chips, i'm pretty much screwed.

So until i can find some pics or proof someone else has got an old HR-03 onto a 9800GTX i'm leaving it for now
