Thanks Jock,

@ grunion, yeah I got the very first version. Did they send you the later 216 version.

@ Jock,

I was playing coD4 at 1680 x 1050 rez on medium settings with a 6000+ CPU and it overheated, my case is well ventilated with 8 - 18 degree air being drawn in from outside the house via some ducting I set up. These cards along with the entire range of nvida cards have a chip issue, Nvidia have acknowledged this now and are in serious financial difficulty over this. Their warranty budget has been blown out of proportion due to the amount of cards being replaced over the last few months alone. Just google overheating nvida chips....

Oh dear......

Has it run OK so far mate, it doesn't look like they have made any changes to the faulty chips on either the 192 or 216 versions according to most media sources.

Good stuff grunion hope it holds up OK.

Hey Corry,

Yeah, I'm reading more and more on here that the temps for 260 and 280's seem to be running near the 100 degree mark..I'm hoping my new card (when it eventually arrives) will be OK.

Hey Jock,

I was looking at the FTW version but thought I'd just go the ASUS one ond overclock as you have, do you have any other additional cooling ??.

A friend of mine at work, and this is the truth, uses one of those frozen fluid blocks you put in the freezer then take it out on picnics etc....he puts the block in front of his tower so the cool air around it gets drawn into his PC !!!! He hasn't had any issues (yet) and plays Battlefield 2 and CoD4 online for hours at a time.....Nuts..

no additional cooling just set that fan at 100% and im good to go, but I do have two bans stuck at the bottom of my case that might help it and have another fan to its right also blowing at it so maybe those 3 fans help???
