Hey Guys,

What software are you using to increase the high end temp warnings, ASUS doctor or Rivatuner ??

Thanks

my gtx 260 core 216 running at 648 / 1397 / 1150, 44 degrees on idle, 80 on load (I don't have the best case in the world though..)
Fan speed on 47%, I'm in the library-like room of the house so it's supposed to be quiet XD
but otherwise turning it up would let me do a lot more..

I'm using Rivatuner for fan speeds, Furmark as stability tester
When fan speed hits the 70s the noise will start to get really disturbing

Thanks,

I started using the ASUS smart doctor for both fan adjustment and overclocking - works a treat. I modded my case by removing the metal grille work in front on the fans but keeping the filters in place. I also changed the two 120mm case fans (inlet and exhaust) with three speed switchable fans, got them both running at highest settings creating a high air flow through the case now, got the card running 38 degrees at idle and 65 under heavy load playing Farcry2 maxed out or Crysis on High settings.

My GTX 260 does NoT run "hot". At idle w/ 45-55% fanspeed my 260 idles 38-43°C. Max load temp doesn't pass 65°C. Sometimes I use 60% fan speed instead of 55%.

ALL THESES HIGH TEMPS!!!!

it must of been a problem with the early released cards, my card is FREEZING constantly....

38-40c idle , 55-60c load with the fan " 60%.......that's super cooling

i just hope it dont degrade over time like my 8800 did...

mine is about 39Cº idle and 48/59Cº on load, im when i play i set the fan at 80% never in auto.. there was a moment when i was playing devil may cry 4 and suddenly starts to lags.. and i saw the temps on my g15 lcd keyboard and realized that my temps reach the "break point": 103Cº almost die.. quit the game faster and NEVER NEVER play in auto fan always at 80%

With 45-60% fan speed, today(tonight) my 260 is idling @ 34°C/93.2°F and barely hit 55°C. . I suppose it's a little on the cool side in this room. Idle GPU Ambient is 28°C at present. What a great stock cooler.

MY GTX 260 core 216 is all over the place. Most of the time on bootup it up idles 35-40C with stress temps up to 60-67C, perfectly fine for this card. Occasionally it will boot up 45-55C with stress temps over 70, sometimes close to 80, too high. I know 3 others who have the 260 from EVGA and BFG. Each have the same occurrences of high run temps and high stress... SOMETIMES. Sometimes I can just reboot to fix the temps. The odd thing is, the temps really are high.. it isn't just a sensor malfunction. If I run 3DMark Vantage when I see the high boot temp, it will artifact and so will the other 3 cards I have seen.

I am curious if there is a design bug, since the behavior is exactly the same on my card and these other 3, plus some accounts from this thread.
