When I had a GTX 260, mine would idle at 70C... this card will run hot, so don't worry as long as your load temp doesn't go past the threshold of this card (I believe is 105C)...

Yup... I have a silent rig, so I didn't want to crank up the fan speed, and I couldn't stand having a GPU idle at 70C... didn't give much headroom for OC'ing... thats why I got the 9800 GTX+, then waiting for the new GTX 260+ to come out so I can step up

You had a faulty card or seriously hampered air flow. They OC just fine.

I idle around 40 with fan at 40% and load is around 60 with fan at 100%.

Is that the new 260? Or is there still only one "generation" 260?

I remember there was the first mode, then the 216SP, then the 55nm? But which of those three are out to buy? Just the first one?
