Hey.
So I run fallout three, and I can play for about a half an hour and it will be smooth. But soon, it starts to lag, pretty bad too. I have a graphics card with a heat sink, and it doesn't have a fan. I felt the heat sink, and it nearly burnt my fingers. I was wondering if possibly, heat could be the problem. If you need more info, just ask. Thanks in Advance. -Andrew

Put a fan on it NOW!!!!
yes, heat is causing the problem. Passive heatsinks are terrible for gaming.

or as an alternative, just get a 120mm fan and have it dedicated to putting air on that heatsink. I certainly agree with everyone else; get a new heatsink for it, passssive is terrible

I'm guessing you have the passive XFX heatsink... those cards get extremely hot (I've owned one before)... its a good idea to stick a fan there...

i dont see heat hindering the terrible performance the 8500 already has, you may have a memory leak, in video memory or ram, when it fills the computer lags
you can try cooling it down, and see if the game stops lagging, but i do not believe this to be the issue

Haha.
Thanks for the help Guys. I'll see what I can do. And if this doesn't help, I guess I'll just see into investing into a new card.
