Hey,
__________________I am having issues with my GTX 260 (stock clocks) i am assuming it is heat, because when it does crash the case fans are blowing out hot air, I even went to the trouble of buying a new case (thermaltake V9) I thought this would solve the problem. I have cleaned out dust and have a decent psu...corsair 620HX or something. it crashs when put underload from new games at high quality, crysis, grid, cod 4...on gpuz it reads about 80 degress just before it dies. ANY IDEAS? or is it just not enough airflow Thanks

Do you have the fan set at 100%? This can be done with EVGA Precision, a very good tool (it does not need to be an EVGA card). It also monitors the temps. Try setting fan at 100% and see if that helps (ya, it will be louder. This will just make sure it is a temp problem).

I will try, but i am monitoring temps on gpuz, it claims the fan is at 100% (and it sounds like it)...but the card is physically HOT to touch....i have even taken the side panel of n pointed a 80mm fan into the fan intake and still gpuz claims that it gets to around 90 and dies....after about 3 mins on crysis on vista... i will try the program u surgested

Ok, if nothing is working, it sounds like the heatsink may be partially unseated. If you have another graphics card I suggest that you return it and get a new card (it may be something else, this will cover everything that could be wrong with the GPU). If not, you can reseat the heatsink yourself. Just buy some thermal paste, remove the heatsink (just unscrew the screws and pull it off, I have never done this with a 260 so can't give specifics) clean off all the stock thermal paste and apply a small rice sized dot to the center of the GPU core. Then set the heatsink back on and screw it on. If you want, you can get a third party cooler that will probably do a lot better than the stock cooler.

If you can confirm that the fan is spinning @ 100% then I would also return the card. My 260 doesn't go above 70C in maxed out 1920x1200 settings.
