I didn't get the DuOrb, but still the tempatures reduced by 7-9°C on load.. found it quite amazing how much just the thermal paste could do..

Default DuOrb Problem

I just installed a DuOrb on a BFG 8800GT and followed all of your instructions. When I boot up my PC it goes through the usual load screen, and as soon as the Windows XP load bar finishes my display shuts off as if i have no video card installed (monitor goes into power save mode or whatever). Any suggestions on what might cause that? If i revert back to the original cooling system the card works fine.

What did I try? I took apart the card, cleaned everything, made sure it was all correct, and retried booting up...same outcome.

Hmm, if you put the stock cooler back and it works, you must be doing something wrong with the duorbs. Make sure you installed the ramsinks, and that you do not have too much or too little thermal paste on the core. I think some of the "newer" 8800GTs have different capacitor arrangements. Make sure the sink is actually touching the core, and not held off of it by big capacitors. Also, be sure to PLUG IN the duorb and GPU, and push the GPU all the way into the slot (and securely attach the monitor).

There are duorbs made for GPUs, and duorbs made for CPUs. They are not interchangeable and would not fit in the wrong place. If it fits on your CPU, it is the correct one. Also, the CPU duorb looks like 2 GPU duorbs stacked on eachother.

This is the CPU duorb, compare that to the pictures above.
