EVGA 9800gt fan too loud

the fan sounds like a hair blower and i need help bringing it down i have 700w power supply so its not that i need help bring down the fan i tried riva tuner but the fan settings are not there ?

i would just leave it. it could be overheating the that case. what GPU temperatures does rivatuner report?

Hmm, my 9500GT was damn loud when I got it. download rivatuner
Find the Fan config on it, read some FAQs if you need more help. Also, fill out your rig mate. And welcome to OCN!

in rivatuner click on the first diagonally facing arrow. then click on the picture of the video tape with the magnifying glass. a few statistics should be showing up in real time. one of the called core temp and another ambient temp.

I think the card might be defected should i return to get differnt card or get the same card ?

EVGA fans from my experience are loud. My 260 is pretty loud. Use EVGA Precision to change fan speed. Its simpler and easier to use than Riva Tuner.

EVGA Precision, riva tuner i try every thing but its just that the fan settings is gone in rivatuner and it disabled in EVGA Precision help

I have the 9800 GT from Evga. The only time I can hear my fan is when its at 100%. But it keeps it nice and cool for gaming.
