I believe you just apply a tiny drop of thermal paste and let it dry.

regular thermal paste does not work. You need some type of adhesive, either thermal tape or something like Arctic Silver Ceramique.
New ram sinks should come with tape applied already.

The thing about this is... it will never ever dry.

This is the best stuff I have used -
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Thermal-tape-S...1%7C240%3A1318 Its probably available on ebay US. It holds very well, thermal transfer is very good and its quite easily removable with a little wiggling.

the ram sinks that come with the vf900 already have THERMAL TAPE applied to them! all you need to do is clean the ram on the video card with some rubbing alcohol, then take off the little clear protective sheet applied to the rams sinks then put the ram sinks on your ram.
