Okay, so I have this (good but stupid) GPU. The card is excellent, but I want to start learning overclocking and what-not. First things first though, I want to make sure it doesn't overheat, which it already does. The already crappy fan and "heatsink" on it need to go. But I need options, and the ones I have seen don't look like they are compatible. Here's the exact one I have: http://www.hardwarezone.com/img/data...1261/front.jpg
__________________The fan is made of some crappy plastic that rattles (no it's not loose) and it's hardly efficient. Thanks. ^_^ (I already looked at other 5200 posts about cooling, I don't think those coolers will work.) -edit Any other ideas on how to cool it down is fine also. ^_^ I saw the post with those small fans, nice job there, but I don't have any fans right now like that.

This little guy should help:
__________________http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...3572&CatId=498 It says it's copper, but it's so shiny that I wouldn't doubt it being copper plated aluminum. Which is still pretty ok, as long as you're not planning on cranking your core clock up another 100 MHz. But if you are... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...4629&CatId=498 There are others like that... do a search for "vga cooler", and perhaps even "chipset fan" or "chipset hsf" and you should find many that will work. If the holes don't line up you'll have to do a little adjusting... or you can just use a thermal adhesive (if the HSF isn't too heavy).

Ahh thank you so much. That second option is perfect, as I am planning to OC my GPU by quite a bit. I'm going to probably end up buying that. Thanks. ^_^

If I remember right (it's been forever) but wasn't the FX5500 just an overclocked FX5200? You should be able to overclock to FX5500 speeds then.
