Default Possible to remove 8800GTX plastic cover?

I was wondering if its possible to remove the plastic cover on the 8800gtx. Im having some heating problems ans just want to see how well removing the cover and placing a fan next to teh card works.

I've removed the card and unscrewed all the screws that appear to be holding the cover down but cant seem to remove it. One side lifts up pretty easily but the other seems like its still being held by a screw or two but i cant seem to find them

Are they hidden under the sticker that covers the whole top of the cover with all the nvidia logos and stuff?

On my 8800GTS i had to pull up the sticker, i think i had something like a total of 4 screws.
If you take off that cover the fan will basically be useless since there is no duct for it, so i'd say unplug that one, and just mount a 80mm to the heat sink with zipties or something

umm don;t remove the plastic cover. it make the air flow in the right direction. Also, to remove the HSF you need to also remove the screws around the core. remember if you take the HSF off you need to replace the thermal paste but not the thermal pads.

yeah don't take the fan off, and what are heating issues? a GPU can take ALOT more heat then a CPU, my 8800GTX before it hit water was hitting 90... and thats still within range. Most go up to 110 by specs...

The heating issue is fixed now i suppose lol. It was idlign at 80 and going over 100 on load which was causing crashes. So I added in 4 fans rigged places by zipties and now it idles at 61-62 and hardly goes over 80 on load.
