The duorb by the name, is it possibly named by the blue orb by thermaltake, and it has 2 of them? I think I've seen one of them.

If the vd964 has crappy contact, then without doubt go for the duorb

If its going on that 8800GT which doesn't really need RAM cooling then go with the Battleaxe (VD964) as it cools better than a duo orb does.

The VD964 does not push the air on the card, the fins are closed.

Thats what i mean.

You can also look into the

Arctic Cooling Xtreme 9800
Arctic Cooling Accels S2 Revision 2
Scythe SCVMS-1000

You'll have to wait for newegg to restock or find at another place.

Though, out of all of those I would have to say your best bet is the Xigmatek Battleaxe VD964.

After owning one, on my 8800GTS 640, I can say it cools much better than the other ones. But its a little tricky to instal. The RAMsinks are iffy, but I got mine to hold with some MX2

The VD one looks inefficient to me to tell you the truth.

That's what I thought too before looking at reviews.
It seems like the outer 2 heatipes won't make contact

Despite that, the VD964 got very nice reviews and isn't that bad of a cooler. It's actually very good

These two graphics card coolers are indisputable performance leaders on graphics cards with bare GPUs as well as those with heat-spreaders on them. They outperform such well-known opponents as Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 and Accelero Xtreme 8800. Moreover, unlike the latter, XIGMATEK and AURAS solutions are universal coolers, which means that they make a much smarter investment than Xtreme 8800/2900.

Xigmatek has truly outdone themselves in price/performance with the Battle-Axe. With the possibility of purchasing the Battle-Axe for under even $25 USD after mail-in rebate, there really just isn't any other VGA cooler that can outdo it in price/performance.
