I adore my iandh sinks as well. I find it odd that you're having a contact issue though. Mine make contact perfectly, and I use MX-2, although I'm wanting to purchase some more ICD7 and use it instead.

Is it evenly not making pressure everywhere or is it one or two pushing it up too high? Why would the manufacturer make their RAM uneven? That's so odd to me.

But Ian said it best. If your stuff is uneven, you'd be wise to purchase to some brand new pads and use them.
Well, I'm not trying to make it sound that they don't make any contact. They are making contact, I just prefer them a bit snugger I suppose. If I tighten them too tight the PCB just bows and then you don't get contact in the middle (mainly on the VRM's, the smaller sink) so I'm thinking the pads would be better for me; as I can get good contact with minimal torquing.

I use Iandh's sinks myself, first on my 8800GT SC and now my 8800GTS 512.
I have only ever used AS5 (no pads).
No issues so far (15 months)
Vram is usually 8c less than the core.
