I absolutely hate to admit it, but the Duorb on the 88GT in my workstation cools the GPU to the same load temps (47-49) as I see on my 8800GTX which is on a dual-rad water loop...

Temps comparable to water on a $40 cooler, what does that tell you?

Yeah, which was edited after I posted

EDIT: @ McBrown.CA, that's what I figured. All that money for about the same performance as an aftermarket heatsink. Though, it is reusable with other cards, but then again, so is the Duorb (which might not stay up to par with future cards, though). I'll probably go the cheaper route and get the Duorbs, as they seem to perform very well for as cheap as they are.

@ OP: Thanks for posting! That's great performance for such a cheap cooler, and helps inch my decision closer to the Duorbs. +rep

oh, i'm not sure how much this helped but i took off the back plate slot right under the gpu slot. this helped drew in extra air and cooler is pretty much parallel to the grill on door. i'm sitting in front of my computer right now with a t-shirt on... so the ambient can't be super low.... LOL

He already did, its in his post 21C.
thanks for the help. I mean, i'm in the same room, Auld is right, the temp can't change by that much.

Look at GPU-Z and EVGA Precision, do some idle and load tests, and compare the results to the chart in the original post.

Everyone's system and setup is different. Just download GPU-Z real quick, run a game for a few minutes to heat things up, and see where you stand.

It's not about measuring change in temps, it's about comparing your ambient temps to ours in order to see how our environment would react to the same modification. Say you have an ambient of 21*C and load at 45*C; if my ambient were 25*C, I would not load at the same temp.
