Default 8800gts SLI or upgrade?

well its been a while since i was into computers.
was wondering if it would be better if i SLI my 8800gts XFX or sell it and get a 9800gt and plan on a sli later?

will consider any other card that is prices reasonably

I would recommend you pick up a second 8800GTS. The 9800GTX is really a rebranded 8800GTS G92, so it wouldn't do you any good really to sell your card just to buy it.

It would be like selling your current 8800GTS just to buy a new 8800GTS. In the end, you would spend money for nothing.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the impression that the 9800GT is basically a higher clocked 8800GT. If you're looking for a single card solution I would reccomend the ATI 4850 which can be had for around $100 used or the ATI 4870 at ~$170 used. I don't have very much experience with SLI but I do think that at your resolution two 8800 GTS's would do very well. Especially considering you can aquire an 8800 GTS for probably around $100. I'm pretty sure that two 8800 GTS's would destroy an 4850.

yeah i guess it would be better if i stick with the 8800gts took a lot of research to pick that one out. wonder why i changed my plans...
