In my rig the graphics cards( two GTX 285) are 60 degrees celcius with out even playing. I'm using the antec 900 case with air cooling. does anyone have any suggestions how to fix the problems. i do have 600-700 dollars free for investments in parts right now.

Yes, correct codyz,
__________________Your GPU can withstand 100c and still work. But whats recommended on load is no higher then 85c If your getting below 85c on throttle it is hot, but it will work fine. People get a modded HSF that will help the most. I dont know if youll have room to put in two modded heatsinks... Also most people get avgerage 50c idle , The reason your @ 60c is because your case is closed trapping the hot air. Open the side case panel and your 60c will becomes 48c or 50c then while gaming it will be 70ish 80ish,,, gl,

Try to tweak the fan speeds on those cards with Rivatuner or EVGA Precision.

Make the fans on the case run so you have positive pressure

The problem isnt the fan speed, its the fact that they are huge and when you add a second you cover the air intake on the first...
They should design the fan to pull in air from the side of the cards, I figure they would have figured that out by now... I believe the artic cooling heatsink will fit in SLI and should help a bunch... til then get a 120mm fan and try and mount it to blow directly onto the side of the cards and use evga precision or riva tuner to crank fan speed... My single hits 80c in no time with 60% fan or less, it runs at 70c with 100% fan so dont expect miracles...

Best way is open side case panel and open your room door and open room window and if possible turn AC on. Then youll never have to worry about reaching 80 or 90c . gl,

I bet there would be quite a few sweet tri-sli setups, that didnt burn out one of the cards after some hours, if that were the case.Anyways, to the original poster; I would personally find another solution for my rather expensive (and cool btw ) sli setup. I would also use a modded version of the accelero xtreme gtx280, if you are sure it fits with your pcb's. However, you should expect some extra work, like you've probably already seen in my review thread about this cooler, right here on Overclock.net.
