Default Aftermarket cooler for GTS 250?

Hi guys,

I have the XFX GTS 250 and the fan gets noisy!

What cooler would fit on it? I'm lost.

with a mATX motherboard and a sound card taking up the last PCI slot, you'll be somewhat limited in your choices.

The GTS 250 is really just a higher clocked 9800gtx+, so an AC Accelero S1 paired with a 120mm fan would probably do the trick if you want to stay on the cheap side... another cheap option would be a Thermaltake Duorb which will take up less slots and look better IMO

Lastly, if you want to get spendy, you could get a Thermalright T-rad2 which is about as good of cooling as you can get with so few slots available

Quick thing i forgot to ask. I see you mention its like a 9800GTX+ which it is, but the GTS is smaller - so would those coolers actually fit?

The Asus M2N68? I looked it up and it's showing as microATX
How many free slots do you have then?

It's a smaller manufacture size, but the mounting mechanisms are the same I believe... not that it matters, as all the heatsinks I suggested support several cards. They also have the necessary mosfet and vram sinks

If you have extra space, you can also add the HR-03GT to your list of options

Isn't the PCB itself like a half inch shorter though? That's what I've heard

The Accelero Extreme 9800 would be another good option if it fits.

since the gts 250 is the same thing as a 9800gtx which is the same thing as a 8800gts 512, the HR-03 is great. when i play tf2, my temps go up to 40C, idle is 35.
