Default After Market Cooling?

Two questions: should I be able to run SLI with 2 285 1g gtx on this Antec CP 850W or do I need to beef up my power supply?

And second question: will I need after market cooling running SLI? Its going to be in the natec 1200 case, so their is plenty of air flow... Just wondering if i'd have to invest in a seperate cooler ofr hte cards themselves. Thanks a lot.

Yes. To be sure, what is in the rest of your system?

No. Assuming you have good airflow, you should be fine.

That PSU should be plenty.

Check your card temps with Rivatuner. They should be fine in that case but if you think they are running to hot then just add a fan in the door so that it's pulling air into the case and across the cards. If you were running tri sli I would say you would see problems on both fronts but with two cards you should be fine.

With a 1200 your airflow should be great, so no need for aftermarket coolers for the 285's. And yeah, your 850 is plenty for the two in SLI, and if you download EVGA's precision tool, you can actually adjust fan speed on the cards to keep them cool, bc they run stock at 40%.

Ok thanks heaps for answering this question =) I really don't need to go to tri SLI right off the bat... I think dual with the 285's is going to BLOW MY MIND given i'm rocking a... ok don't laugh... 7600 512mb slightly overclocked lol. I'm still doing a P4 set up right now =*( But doing a total renovation this summer! lol. So yeah i think to start dual SLI is going to blow my mind already. Leave the tri for a rainy day =)

Ok. I'll probably turn the fans up on the cards if i have problems with heat. I don't mind a little extra noise.

Once again, thanks a lot.

"Yes", a reconfirmation that your 850W is enough.
