if you are talking about the front and cpu fan, those are ducted.
i put the duct on the s1283 to see if it would help, it did a little, comparison of airflow between the rear fan and the front fan, the front fan pulled very little air. so i decided to try a duct, not only does it seem to pull a lot more air not having to deal with the fan filter being so close, but it gives the cpu heatsink a intravenous injection of fresh air ![]() with the panel off, it doesnt seem to be letting as much air go out to the sides, now i want to rid of the fan shrouds as ducts, and do some actual ducting.
