Default evga nvidia geforce gtx 260 issues

Hi, I'm having issues with my video card. i'm not sure whats wrong with it. it has random heat spikes, crashes at times (if running hardcore gfx application).

evga nvidia geforce gtx 260
look at my system specs if you need more information for my system. i do have a dual screen setup. Vista ulimate 64 bit sp2 final with 185.5 drivers

idle temp is 73 c degrees

under load temp(random, it can be any where from 80c to 100c +)

I already had to RMA my old card once. i'm not sure whats killing my cards.

system temps below:

I had to raise the gpu fan so it wont burn up...

If its been two cards in a row, I would first look at the air circulation in your case. I have 2 260s in an Antec 1200 and I have to keep all the fans at medium settings to keep my GPUs cool.

Do you have your soundcard directly below the GPU? If so try moving it to another slot. If anything is near the card it will reduce airflow increasing temps.

How about your fans. Do you have the 80mm side fan blowing in or exhausting? Front intake fan? Type and airflow?

Those are some high temps. I don't think I even get up to your idle temps when I'm running Furmark. Check air flow in case (fans, cable management etc.), dust in GPU HSF assy and put your GPU at the highest speed that you can stand (noise wise).

You might need to revisit your case fan setup / configuration...

You also have a HAF that's why.

Though it wouldn't be a bad idea to make sure you have the proper airflow for your case.

I am having the same issue with temps and my 260's I spoke to EVGA on it and they said the cards should be safe to around 85c and I also spoke to coolermaster about the airflow in my cosmos and got some new higher CFM fans to aid in it, but the whole point is your 260's don't NEED to be at 50c every second of the day to be ok.

I have had bery little luck with the auto agjusting on the fan, just seems to like to kick up the fan alittle too late so I have mine set at 75% and I can barely stand it.

Mine idles anywhere from 50-53C, and load is under 75. How are your other temps? I can't think of a reason only one component would be that hot, unless the card itself is somehow faulty.
