So I've been doing some stress testing on my 9800GT to see what temps I'm getting with the new fans in my system, and I'm getting two totally different readings and it leaves me really confused.
Riva Tuner says: 33C idle. NVMonitor says: 43C idle. Everest says: 45C idle. I couldn't see what the temps were when I ran 3DMark06. In Fur Mark it says the same as what Everest says. So that leaves me pretty confused. When I exit a game I can see in my system tray the temp that Riva Tuner displays is like 48C and dropping. So it goes up like a GPU would, I was thinking its probably my NB temp but that thing gets much hotter so I doubt its that. I'm really confused, any thoughts here sorry if my explanation is a little confusing.

maybe it's reading a different sensor...there are 3 sensors that Rivatuner detects under gpu core temp for my gtx260...the other ones give me lower temps, so I just use the default, which is what other monitors see as well

Hmm I just noticed there's one that says NV Thermal and I clicked it, and it switched to the same readings as the one in NVMonitor and Everest.
I also have three sensor options though. Dang all this time I thought my graphics card was running cool...to find out its not what I expected....still better than stock I guess. Why so many sensors?

no idea..but it says remote sensors on there, so maybe it's reading PCB temps, from like the RAM or something

The most accurate is Coretemp and Realtemp. Try those and see if they match up with the others...then you know what one of the 3 is best.

Isn't real temp only for Intel? And CoreTemp is for CPU only lol....I'm talking about my 9800GT here.

Riva Tuner says: 33C idle.
__________________NVMonitor says: 43C idle. Everest says: 45C idle. I say from that it would be 40 - 46C Just take the higest one i say!
