Default [Quick Question] Fan life on GTX 285
Just a quickie...
I plan on doing an all-nighter folding session today [in a few minutes since it's 12am now] and want to leave the GPU on 100% fan speed. It's overclocked to 700CORE/1700SHADER/1350MEM
Will this somehow wear the fan out over time? Or reduce the life? Wear the bearings out or something?

You should be fine. Even if it does Wear out, most EVGA cards have a lifetime warranty, so I wouldn't worry about it.

The fan will last at full speed for about 100 000 hours. Which will presumably outlast the card by a great deal of time.

What everyone else said. I leave mine on 100% all the time, no matter what. They get hot together. eVGA is awesome for a reason.

my fan is at 100% on both card all the time. and the 9800gtx I had was also set to 100% fan speed for about 2 years and didnt have a problem with it. the fans are the same I think.
I wouldnt worry about it if I was you.
