Default Temp difference in RivaTuner/Speedfan

I got this odd problem. When I changed some of my case fans from being powered by the PSU to being powered by the Motherboard, I see a temperature difference in RivaTuner vs Speedfan/RealTemp

Speedfan and RealTemp say that GPU0 is running at 50° (idle!!!).
RivaTuner says that GPU0 is running at 42°.

Speedfan and RealTemp say that GPU1 is running at 42°.
RivaTuner says that GPU1 is running at 35°.

Now which one should I trust, or what is going on here? lol
And what is the max temperature my cards could be running at? (I guess about 65°?)

Thnks

Just use HWmonitor... it's probably the most accurate of all temp monitoring programs I've ever used. Of those, i would trust Speedfan/Realtemp just because 35C idles on a 285 just doesn't seem right...

And indeed, my first card is running at 50°, second one 43°.

How high can it go to hit the red zone?

90 degrees is very high, close to the max. If you hit that, immediately turn off your game so your video cards can cool off.
85+ is where you want to invest in new cooling options (another fan).
80 is fine.
