Default GTX 260 Aftermarket coolers

I was wondering if anyone knew of any aftermarket coolers that would make the gtx260 singe pci? I want to put in my freinds gtx260 into my system to make it 3-way but i need one pci slot. Only solution i could find is water cooling that would make the card only one pci slot but thats about it. Anyone know of any air cooled ones? Thanks!

You sure it won't fit? I know it's a tight squeeze, but it should fit...

But yeah, water is about your only option. And with 3 GTX260's squeezed together you don't want to skimp on the cooling.

Water would certainly be an expensive route, but worthwhile in my opinion, as it can be reused on other components/cards. Get a few MCW60's, some ramsinks, an MCR320-QP w/ a few fans, an MCP-355 pump, some tubing, clamps from the hardware store, distilled water with some Swiftech Hydrx.

You don't have to go full cover waterblock. Some MCW60's with ramsinks will do the same thing (just won't look as pretty), plus they can be reused on future cards with a bracket update (usually like $10).

hah, :P i been really flippy floppy on what i want to do as my next upgrade to my rig. Im already planning a new motherboard and cpu (New skulltrail or i7) and then i got the three gtx260's .. hmm when i planned out a WC system a few weeks ago it cost about 300ish for 1 card and cpu cooled. =\ but now that i think about it. maybe i should include water cooling into my upgrade. i can use it on all my upcoming rigs and it would help keep things cool :P but the price tag is making it a bit hard to bit ahhhh... >_<

there is one other option besides water cooling: HR-03 GTX 260/280. i know this can be used in SLi, but i dont think it will work with tri-SLi.
here ya go

He's looking for a single slot solution to use it in Tri-SLI. If he could fit that, he could fit the stock cooler.

This was my solution. About $80 IIRC. D-tek Fuzion block and D-Tek Unisink. Temps peak at about 42C and VRMs are nice and cool with the unisink.

Definitely a good solution, but it's not going to cost him $80 since he'd have to buy the rest of the loop. And it would be kind of silly just to watercool one card and leave the other two on air, so that's $80 x 3 plus rad, pump, fans, tubing, etc.

Honestly, I don't think it'd be worth the added cost for Tri-SLI. SLI GTX260's are plenty. He'd probably see more gains from overclocking that CPU some more (or get a Q9550) than he would from adding another GTX260.

Out of curiosity though, what's keeping you from running them in Tri-SLI? If you don't have any other add-in cards, they should all fit on that 790i. Unless the bottom card overlaps the bottom of the board and you have a small case or something, and if that's the case, you should get a better case anyway, as those GTX260's in Tri-SLI would need some GOOD airflow.
