Default 77C+ Is there something wrong?

Hi, I just got my EVGA GTX 260 192 graphics card and when playing games it easily passes 70C and even gets close to 80C. When I check the auto cooling, the fan never goes to 100% to cool the card down. Is there something wrong with my card? I can still return it if there is.

Thanks

No, nothing is wrong with the card (based on what you've said).

The thermal spec is 105C on your card, and the fan should not ramp to 100% till 85-90C.

Exactly.

GPUs are designed to take much more heat than CPUs.

get evga precision tool if you haven't already...I use it for my 280GTX cards...
that being said, I find a good compromise between temperatures and fan noise at 70% fan speed..
