If you can't hear it at all, then why don't you just run the fan at 100% all the time? Lower temps = longer life for your graphics card so you may as well just run the fan full blast.

Yeah, I'm going to run it at 100% and get another fan to just blow into the side of the case. I could probably get something at wal-mart for pretty cheap. I might pick that up on my way home from work in the morning.

Hi. Well today i got my old 8800GTS 320, and i try to play with it, for fun. I took it apart, and move the stock cooler. I moved that metal around GPU core too. And i tryed to somehow install accelero s1 rev 1 ...

Well, acctualy 2 holes on accelero and 8800pcb are matching. So you use accelero screws and put it together. ( if you do this, youll see that 2 hooles that are matching, dont worry )

warning, you must be carefuel if you doo that. That metal is used to stop PCB from loosing its shape. So dont broke your card. It should be tight, but not too much. And dont worry about temps.

I got 36 C in idle with 12 centimeter vent blowing on it. On about 600rpm-s (i didnt belived my eyes, an g80 old school card below 40 c..pfff)

PIC

Sry about ENG, i suck

I got the Asus 8800GTS, 640Mb,
Idle: 45
Load: 60-65
Stock cooler at %100, Headphones Loud.

I took the cooler off, and applied all new thermal compound, and restuck all the Thermal tape as well.

I tried to mod it as well by adding 2 80mm fans, without the shroud, But it was worse?.
got to 70 and was still climbing.

Im thinking VF1000, with the aluminum Ram and Mosfet thing.

here it is

I have underclocked it for 2d:

This is about 2 hours playing STALKER SOC, with 90% gpu activity(max temp i saw were 61/54/49):

So, this is evidence for accelero s1 rev. 1 working with 8800GTS 320( i would sad he can hold 8800GTX and ULTRA with fan around 1200rpm - i would try it in a week or so)

The 8800s are known to run hot. If you think that is hot, you should get an 8800GTX Ultra!

I think gts 320/640 are not hot as gtx/ultra.

Ofc, i had both of them, and i think 95C is not scary for those g80 monstrums. So in a couple of days i will mount accelero with antec 12cm vent on it, and i will proove it . Wish me luck.
Only problem is, becouse touching surface of accelero is a lot smaller than g80 gpu cover, but it is working as you see...

@mt-biker, the problem is i want to cool the gpu down, for extra overclock. Stock cooler sucks, and this is very guiet.
