So, my tower resides in an unventilated closet in my house. I have all the sides off of the case, but I was still crashing when playing video games because my graphics card was still overheating. My temporary solution was upping the fan speed on the factory cooler to 100%. I did notice a few degrees drop which is nice, but I didn't think it would handle it with the door closed. So I went and picked up a new GPU cooler from Wal-Mart this morning.



Here it is installed.



What's nice about this model cooler, is that it will also cool the CPU, RAM, HDDs, ODDs, Northbridge, and Southbridge chipsets at the same time. It also works in conjunction with the stock cooler. Not bad for $25.

I've noticed a 10 degree Celsius drop in temperature with this new GPU cooler and stock cooler at 100%, so I'm ready to game.

LOL yeah make sure the dead spot of the fan isnt next to the gfx card or make a like 500mm shroud LOL

It's in a closet, I don't hear it from the living room. I do work in a data center... maybe I tuned out the noise of loud air conditioning?

LOL dude i totally feel you. i have a yellow fan blowing into the back of my computer. i took out a pci cover slot and put the fan to blow into it. it drops my temp by like 2-3c lol
