had a feeling... as an alternative, could i use a thin piece of copper, or make a copper HS "shield" to take up the gap? There is a mod for my XPS lappy like that and it gives good results... ill see if i can find it.

Otherwise, can anyone give a link to a place to get the thermal pads from (seen a few, but want a reliable product/supplier)
