Default 8800GTX Extreme mod to the stock cooler

I am currently in the gluing process. But here are some starter pics. Main goal is to increase air flow dramatically. Idle = 58C load = 80-83C. I am replacing the stock fan to a 90MM.

Mainly to see if I can get a load under 75 so I can Vmod the Vcore. Card is currently flashed at 621Core and 1000? memory?

Lets hope it doesn't suck

Hold on a sec... I'm hearing something strange... oh weird, my 8800GTX's both just made a cringing sound. Odd.

BRB

Had to console them a bit. Let them know that everything will be alright. They're getting old (and a little senile.)

J/K man. Looks like an interesting mod. Keep us informed on your progress and results!

You'd probably get better temps with the fan on top of the heatsink instead of beside it. But this is more original.

I wanted to do something like this a while back, except for the fact that one of those retardedly tiny screws securing the plastic shroud to the card has a stripped head, and I cant get it out

Well i'll upload pictures in a few. On 100% you can't even hear it compared to the stock fan. Highest temperature was 78C and I got the first load wrong it was 85C. Idle's are still the same. Still alot quieter though so I like it.

Oh and has anyone ever stuck a fan blade in a dremel? NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER try to touch it to your chin even on LOW speed. owie

Well I straight up uploaded a 8800GTX Ultra bios to the card. So now its an 8800GTX Ultra, and along with that flash it changes the Vcore to 1.35, not 1.3. So now the highest I hit was 85C. I think it was worth it. XD

Yeah, try resizing them. Even on my 20 mbps connection with a modded firefox 3.5.1, it takes a long time for them to completely load.
