Hi i'm looking for a mod so that i can make my 250 single profile to give me the option of using the slot that it is covering and to make space.
i'd prefer it to be air cooling, i've seen the 'EK Water Blocks EK-FC9600 SLI - Acetal VGA Block' but i'm a noob to water cooling and it also meens that iu would have to install a pump and all. Thanks

First of all why do you need it to be a single slot low profile card?
Second, I don't know of any aftermarket cooler that will make it a slingle slot card besides watercooling blocks, which are kind of a psuedo-single slot card as ussually they impose a little bit onto the second slot.

does one of the models of HR-03 fit it? because then you can mount it so that the heatsink is above the card. then just find a single slot drive cover from an 8800gt and you're good to go

I see a couple options open to you.
You could look the PCB of your card and see if there's a 9800GT w/ a similar enough PCB that it's cooler would fit, then attempt to procure that cooler. Or you might be able to get a HR-03 variant and mount it backwards if there's room enough on the opposite side of the card. If you go w/ the 1st option and are successful you'll probably need to either run it @ higher than normal fanspeed all the time or down clock your card slightly, as the heat output of a 9800GTX+/GTS250 would be greater than a 9800GT.
