if u ever undrest ur 260/280 u know what i mean u look at it and then u think *** what wer they thinking the cooling unit on the 260/280 u looks like it can cool chernobil and it probly can but then bfg xfx and may others go and put garbage thermal pads on it all .them laying that garbage on the ram chips might be fine cause they never realy get that hot but they go an alsow put it on the shadder procesor the littel chip near the sli plug if u open ur card and look at it it will be a nice shade of brown from cooking ,cause those white furry pads dont transfer heat they keep it in the chip i took my 260 apart found those pads it dint look right so i took one pad off and took it over to my old 1800xp that i use to test thing like thermal paset so i take the heat sink off wipe off al the paset and stick on one of those pads and put the heat sink back on the 1800xp will run 40c
__________________at room temp of 30 it has ran like this for yrs with the white pad it ran a nice and toasty 65c idel at room temp of 30c so i took all that grose white stuff off took forever to get all the littel strands off the card case those white pads are fiberglass pads impregnated with el chepo white pasete fiberglass eh well anyone who has ever sat threw grd 9 science will lern that glass is an insulator means non conductive and not the best material to pass heat threw cause it will absorb but it will retaine it for a long time too and those pads are nice and thik so the heat that is trying to pass has to take a nice long road just a bad desing and the guy who came up with it desrves a kick in the sack Nvidia u could have used thin strips of silicone rubber silicone strip on the 1800xp at room temp of 32c ran 45c idel anyway the old saying is true dont judge a book by its cover the card can look really sweet on the outside but could be one part that makes evrything els totaly useles

Should have the the forum rules. Re-read your post and fix your spelling and grammatical errors. Its a tad bit frustrating to read your post when I don't understand which word you meant to spell of use.

If I were allowed to post graphic images on OCN I'd post a picture of my brain exploding after trying to read either of those two posts.
