I'm hoping someone has some advice or experience with this kind of thing. My laptop has an FX5200 GO GPU, which has no heatsink, and so gets pretty hot (sometimes over 80C under 3D load). So I was thinking about using the Enzotech low profile forged copper VGA heatsinks for the GPU and memory (would take 4 of them).
When I looked at the spec sheet for the 3M thermal tape, it didn't have a maximum temperature specified, and some of the tests were done at 150C. Anyway, do you guys think it'll help much, if at all, or is it just a waste of time? |

Just an update in case anyone was interested, I was going up to 90C when monitoring the temps under 3D stress before I shut it down before, now I've gotten the heatsinks, put 4 on (2 on GPU and 1 on each of the 2 RAM chips) and now I'm not going over 72C. Worked out great!

Not a bad deal. Usually, Laptop graphic cards are intended to be run at super high levels of heat, thats just their nature. Cooling them off a little bit certainly cant hurt though!
