I have a laptop with a 9800M GT video card in it. It runs stupid hot (without overclocking), as has been stated all over the internet; however, I cannot find any way to turn the fan up to max. I've heard it come on sometimes randomly for a few seconds; however, since upgrading to windows 7, I never hear it and games are just dying completely.
I'm using the latest drivers for the card, and I've tried rivatuner and google search. Any ideas? |

I don't think you can control the fan speed of a laptop video card.

I'm not sure about the video card, but speed fan can be used for the other fans.

If you don't mind taking your lappy apart you could cut the yellow sensor wire and your fan would run 100% all the time.
EDIT: Try using Nibitor to open the GPU BIOS and see if you have controllable fan speeds. http://www.mvktech.net/component/opt...leinfo/id,425/

There are plenty of warranty voiding internet DIY mods to help fix laptop the heat problems if all else fails. I'd say first get some canned air & blow out any dust in your compartments, then check temps with your PC atop a pacific breeze pad or similar device
