Hi- I know its been a while since I last posted but I want to know if anyone has had any success with air-cooling a 3-way SLI configuration using GTS 250 video cars. So far, my temps peek at about 80c and I begin to have problems while playing games. My idle temps are at about 40c to 52c(thats with windows on, running other applications- but not playing games.) The only way I can keep playing is if I remove the side panel, which btw has a 120mm Antec fan. I hate having to keep doing that because it makes my rig look so ghetto :-( lol- I have tried switching the fan, but my GPU temps remain the same. I also tried switching all three cards into different slot positons w/ different results. My cards run fine by themselves, and in a 2-way SLI configuration. Any input about this is prolem is greatly appreciated, thanks!

80°c should not be a problem, try bumping up the fan speed on the cards to like 50-55%

Have you tried increasing the card's fan speed? I keep mine on ~70%. But, I dropped my temps by removing the fan shroud and applying new thermal tape. The only reason I dislike the 3-way SLI set-up on air is because of the temps. In my opinion, all you can really do, besides changing the cooling set-up, is remove the shrouds, apply new thermal tape to the card's heatsink contact points, and decrease the room temp is crank up the fan speed.

80c is nothing...those cards can be around 100c before your overheating them. Increase the fan speed as suggested earlier

Thank you for the quick responses fellas! But i've already tried incresing the fan sped on all 3 GPUs through NV Contral Panel- theyre all running at 100%- still getting same temps though. When im running WoW and the temps get to about 80c or higher, my PC freezes- and I have to completely reboot. No BSOD screen either.

I really do not think that it's your temps. You are a little short on power, thats whats causing you to freeze up. running three way sli and memory takes alot and 800 watts may be just pushing it. I upgraded from 650 to 1000 cause 650 just barely made the cut and was giving me tons of problems including freezing up but no BSOD. so if you have a large PSU to borrow try that. hope this helps!

Also, make sure the side of your case is open. Possibly put a house fan against your rig... gl
