coolbits...it was the optimized config...but I found out later that it was because I had the side of my case off and the A/C was pumping cold air straight into the case

Since closing the case and all, I haven't seen the temps at idle higher than 47C, and the optimized config is now around 570 core, 1.14 memory

Could you drill a hole on the PCB itself so you don't have to make the extension bracket? Is there anything connecting over that area?

Because your extension bracket only use 1 screw, later on it might become weak and just fall out...how about some soldering connect them permanently together?

Sorry for double post (ocnet wouldn't let me edit) but I just wanted to say that is a great mod and I will definitely use the idea when I get my 6600GT agp. REP

There are a few connections just below the pcb where that hole would be located...but it is also so close to the other hole that the structure might be more unstable than the extension bracket. I had the idea to put the other screw in and cut off half of the head so the other could be screwed in. And maybe get a small nut to hook up with the bolt that is connected to the extension bar. Just an idea...and amazing how something so simple could be so interesting.

Perhaps we could all get something manufactured for a good price, and get it authorized by zalman as an accessory. Any takers?
