If i increase the res and enable AA that should strain the graphics card more than the CPU. I expected a $380 graphics card to run a 2 year game at 16x AA @ 1600x1200. I'm thinking it could be driver related because when 94.92 & 94.94 were installed i couldn't enable 16x AA in the in game menu itself. I noticed that when i enable 16x AA/16x AF in the Control Panel it doesn't seem to do anything to the game...

The 8800 is bottlenecking your CPU, with a dual core you can run it 1600x1200 with all max settings and AF/AA enabled.

Ah, well... i am going to be buying a E6420, 2 GB of g skill DDR 800, and a Asus motherboard for under $550 shortly. So my graphics card is bottlenecking my CPU instead of my CPU bottlenecking my GPU? Also i forgot to mention after reading through the forceware driver release notes they said f.e.a.r extraction point has sluggish performance on the 8800 GTX graphics cards. So, i guess i am not the only one with crappy frame rates.

Do you think doom 3 will run on 1600x1200 and 16aa and 16 af? Sorry but dont think so, its an old game but hey 16 AA is heavy on the g8!

I heard there was a problem with performance with the 8800's if you had dual monitors hooked up to the card, haven't experienced this myself but I've seen some complaints by people on various forums.
