Thumbs up 8800 Gts

F.E.A.R extraction in the end has some poor performance. But it could be the drivers and you need that dual core. I went from a FX-55@3.0 to a 4200 and my benchmark went for 7545 to 8898 with my dual core@ 2.8. Plus I have 2gz of memory. I would like to get in the 10k's but it's ok for now. When Crysis comes out I will upgrade my memory and max out at 4gz or add 2-512mb either one.

You ran 3Dmark 06. That takes advantage of Multiple CPUs.

Thumbs up 8800 GTS and X2

True, the 3dMark06 showed the first CPU was slow than the second. But if the 8800 gts were sli with an X2 it would be slamm'n.

Does he really need the AA/AF at the resolution od 1600x1200? (please explain why if he does)I played F.E.A.R. extraction with the settings maxed out 1600x1200 and received 36-55FPS in vista with the drivers before this one.

Stupid question.... how do you see the FPS on the upper right screen in DOOM3 or any other game for that matter? is it a setting in the game itself or another peace of software?

Doom 3 itself has a FPS counter you can enable, but for other games you can use FRAPS to see the FPS in a corner of the screen.
