they change the advanced advanced settings to cater to games...they add extra performance that you can get with stock forceware drivers...but it is just a waste of time setting all of those vars yourself seeing as how xg already did it for you...

now my take on your lag with lots of lots of cpu intensive stuff going on is this: you need another 512mb stick of ram. i think your cpu is good enough...but who knows. ram is my biggest hunch. cpu...meh...might be it.

i would of said much the same, he's hit the nail on the head .

I installed these drivers onto my friends PC, and it did make his 6600gt run 2C hotter, but this only backs up that the Xtreme G drivers use your card to it's fullest

the pre-overclocked ones from leadtek come at 550/1120 but it's going to be different from card to card, so just use the standard overclocking methods by increasing the core/memory up 3-5Mhz at a time. Until it goes Whiiirrrrr and doesn't like it

I tried it at 550/1100 and it worked great for abbout 1 hour then it crashed and started going into windows and into the game repeatedly not fully loading each time it switched so i just saw a black screen flicking between part of my desktop and just more black...wow I am astonished i thought this cards heatsinc was good and it was recommended to me...i tied doing a system restore thinking it was the drivers..but it was not..the problem consisted..Also my video card is at about 64 Degrees celcius in Idle state...Is that normal?

Thats to a little too high for your card^^ Around 45ish is a good temp. Load should be 75 and 80 tops. Make sure the heatsink is properly seated and find out your load temps. Id take off the heatsink put on some as5 too.

if your heatsink were seated unproperly, it would not be making full contact with the core. the bottom of the heatsink would be...slanted, sort of. only a corner or two would be touching the heatsink.

just to give an example, think of unpopping one of the little pins (there are two holding the hs on). one side of the heatsink would be in the air...it's like that
