Default 8800GT BIOS Voltage Change Works

Just like the title says, I decided to risk my brand new 8800GT for the greater good.

I used nibitor 5.57 to change the voltages to 1.1v for extra, 3d, throttle, and .95v for 2d, and then matched that in the VID section 1.1v 1.1v 1.1v and .95v in order going down.

I just got tired of not being able to get the maximum out of my card.

When I changed it all to 1.1V, flashed, and verified the flash with nibitor, I found that I could pull another 35 Mhz out of the core. I unlinked the core with rivatuner.

With the core unlinked, my speeds are as follows. 735/1800/2100. Core/shader/mem.

Anyway, just thought i'd let yall know. There is a volt mod that works for this, but it requires voltage regulators and a lot of work. I don't even know where to buy vregs, and i'm crap at soldering.

Whoops, my bad then. Well, I posted pics. Hey, I have a question. What could I do with the voltage table editor in nibitor? Could I raise it even higher? 1.2V would be real nice

I don't know about the GTX. Give it a shot. If it doesn't work, blind flash it (I will help you, I wrote it down) or get a pci vid card and flash it.

You don't, you have to edit it yourself. Look up nibitor 3.5a, and nvflash 5.57. I'll help you from there after you download it. I'll be back in a few minutes. I'm going to go flash it to 1.2V.

Ok, I just flashed it to 1.2V, and it pulled my stable clock up to 740/1832/1053. Should I keep going? My temps are fine too. This is what rivatuner shows in the monitoring tool. I think this is good enough. I don't want to push it too much or i'll fry the card. 1.2V can't hurt it, but I don't know, and don't want to try anything higher.

Any shaders or anything to unlock like on the 6 and 7 series with rivatuner?

I don't know, never knew how to do that kind of stuff.

In rivatuner 2.06 I can't find the nvstrap thing where you can enable masked units and such.
