I just got a EVGA 8600 GT (512mb ddr3 ftw), and I previously had a 8400 GS that I oc'd using Nvidia control panel & I believe I had to download something called ntune possibly, not sure. Anyways I saw EVGA's precision utility so i was wanting to use that instead since I have an EVGA card, but I was just wondering will Nvidia control panel interfere with EVGA precision utility? If it does how would I go about removing it/should I use different software instead?
Thanks for the help. While we are on the subject though the 80mm exhaust fan in my case has 4 LED's, when I put the card in now 3 of the LED's do a weird blinking/glowing pattern. It also seems like the fan speeds up and slows down. But that could be from the LED's glowing off and on causing the effect. It started doing that when I put in the 8600, does that mean I need a better psu? The fan is new (bought yesterday at bestbuy), because the 120mm in its place died (span very slowly out of the blue) but that was when I ahd the 8400GS. Sorry for the long post, wanted to give as much info as possible, thanks for reading.

EVGA precision tool and nvidia control panel don't conflict.
I have no idea about your fan/led problem.

A 480w power supply should be enough.. Maybe you should test it with a multimeter and see what kind of voltage each rail is putting out? You might find that it is fluctuating and the power supply is failing.
As for the control panel, I personally have heard way too many horror stories of using ntune and bricking or doing damage to video cards to ever want to touch the thing. I would remove it.

Thanks guys. It's a fairly new psu (about 2 or 3 months), so I hope it isn't already failing. I actually like the blinking LED pattern now that I'm use to it lol. I'll be sure to not use ntune again then
It looks like Rivatuner is a good alternative too, I think I might try that first. Appreciate it!

Get rid of nTUne. It's possibly the most unstable overclocking utility ever. If you use it, prepare for BSODs.
